Owner: Technical Marketing Associates
Alan Egger owned and operated a manufacturer's representative firm for 20 years before
successfully selling the organization to a successor company. A portion of the activity of
Technical Marketing Associates was configured as a product distribution company:
TMA-RF Distributors. The distribution activity remains as a subsidiary of
Technical Marketing Consultants.
Technical Marketing Associates (TMA) represented component manufacturers,
CAE/CAD software providers, and service providers for the Microwave/RF industry.
TMA sold products and services to a wide variety of civilian and military communications
and defense contractors. The company's customers were primarily located in New York
State, New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
Director of Sales and Marketing; Airtron division of Litton Industries
Alan ran the sales organization and representative network for Airtron, a manufacturer
of Microwave components and Waveguide subsystems. He was responsible for the
execution of advertising campaigns and literature creation. His supervisory activities
included extensive interface with US representatives and Litton sales employees
throughout Western Europe.
Sales Manager; Merrimac Industries
Starting as a Sales Engineer, Alan was successively promoted, over a 12- year period,
to Regional Manager, Export Manager and General Sales Manager. He supervised the
sales and sales support departments, and executed sales channel decisions, including
the appointment and supervision of resellers and manufacturer's representatives.
Alan was extensively involved in the creation of pricing policy, catalog design and forecasting.
Sales Engineer; Microlab/FXR
Alan began his career as a Sales Engineer, responsible for proposal preparation and
liaison with customers and representatives.
